the Cat Drawing Guy is kind

Thanks to Steve, the "CatDrawingGuy" that I first became aware of on #ABC #SharkTank show.  He was so funny and I knew he was a kindred spirit when his presentation included a very quirky dance move.  Anyways, time passes and we become twitter and facebook friends. Well a few nights ago, Steve was traveling on the train, bored and sent out request to followers for suggestions for cats, because that's what he does.  He draws although doodles would be more accurate perhaps, cats.  Yes, cats, cats of all kinds doing all sorts of weird requested things.

I tweeted a request for a nurse cat, and lo and behold.....

I now have a very special gift for Mom this Mother's Day.  She has been very ill resulting in frequent  extended hospital stays and we are in the midst of one of those hospital stays now.  She is a retired RN, so I know this will be great "Art" therapy for her and the other nurses providing her care.

a gift for mom

The kindness of strangers

Thanks, Steve!  You Rock!

@CissyCrutcher

Cissy Crutcher:

Cissy is the baby sister of one of my childhood friends and daugther of my Jr High music teacher. She brings to the table her own tastes which include some smooth, some classical, and some cool, the herbs and spices tossed into the stew of her very unique smooth blend. You will be spellbound as you marinate on her melodious lyrics.

CISSY CRUTCHER was a Semi-Finalist in the Avon Voices Global Singing Talent Search! She appeared in the Mario Van Peebles film, Redemption Road starring Michael Clarke Duncan and Tom Skerritt. Cissy also won Best Supporting Actress from the 2010 Thanet International Film Festival for her role in The New, True, Charlie Wu. Performing since the age of four, CISSY fronts her own band, and shares her vocal talents with the Pat Patrick Showband at venues around the United States. She has performed with Music City Hall of Fame songwriter, Pat Alger, and also has vocal credits on projects for other artists, jingles, and corporate soundtracks.

In 2010, Cissy earned honors from the Tennessee Arts Commission with an Individual Artist Fellowship for vocal performance. She has been a featured vocalist in Nashville’s BB King’s Blues Club All Star Band and continues to perform at the club as a headlining act. Cissy has appeared with jazz saxophonists, Marion Meadows, opened for musical groups such as Cameo and Con Funk Shun, and entertained audiences in England, Australia, and New Zealand. Other notable performances during her career include the Franklin Jazz Festival, the Watertown Music & Arts Fest, Nashville’s Jefferson Street Jazz & Blues Festival, the Montreaux/Atlanta Music Festival, the Sydney Opera House, the World’s Fair 1988, and BET’s Video Gospel, and the Vision Awards. CISSY is a singer/songwriter who has combined her passion of writing poetry, singing, and songwriting to develop a unique musical style. Two of her own compositions are on her debut CD, That Kinda Love, (available through iTunes, her website, and CD Baby) which blends elements inspired by some of her influences: Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Patti LaBelle, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder. When not on stage, you can find her teaching middle school students, which she has done since earning a Master’s Degree from Vanderbilt University in 1994. CISSY also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

light bending goddess

...photography gives me super powers. behind a camera lens, my power comes to life. i can freeze time. go back in time. capture memories. evoke memories. expose + manipulate small portions of a subject’s universe. spotlight the rarely seen + reveal the unseen. yes, behind the lens i am all powerful. i am all seeing. with my camera i’m transformed. i become. i’m. i am a light bending goddess…

i use my powers for good. creative joy. i am the creator + director + producer
drama (800x600)of my very own “light drama”.
in the shadows of my shutter creative worlds collide.
the world of nature.

the fashion world.

i span generations.
unit friends + family
a photojournalist.
i am a historian.
a curator. i am
a digital collage artist.paris-ltr-shoes
a photography maven.
i find this inexplicable joy
when i…
capture a butterfly’s landing
review shots from my daily activities + surroundings

i discover so many surprising awe inspiring details
that escaped my natural eye at first gaze
drunk on the nectar of  it's  “creative haze”
that my camera makes  possible.

my camera gives me light-bending power...
